Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-05-05

GameGrid (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the soccer research and analytics platform at gamegridapp.io. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using GameGrid you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

We collect three categories of information:

Account information. When you sign up we collect your email address, your chosen display name, and an optional phone number. If you sign in with a single sign-on provider, we receive only your email and name from them — we never see, store, or transmit your password.

Usage data. Anonymous analytics about which screens you visit, which features you use, and basic device/browser information. We use this to improve the product. Usage data is not linked to your account beyond an anonymous identifier.

Payment information.Processed by an external, PCI-compliant payment provider. GameGrid never sees, stores, or transmits your card number — we only receive a customer reference and your current subscription status so we know whether your access is active.

How we use your information

  • Providing the service: showing you fixtures, signals, and your account state.
  • Communication: account-related emails (password reset, billing receipts), and product updates if you opt in.
  • Service improvement: aggregate analytics on feature usage to prioritize what we build next.
  • Legal compliance: responding to valid legal requests and protecting against fraud.

Sharing & service providers

We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent it, trade it, or share it with advertisers.

To operate the service we rely on a small set of trusted vendors — for things like database hosting, authentication, application hosting, payment processing, and email delivery. Every vendor we use is bound by a written data-processing agreement that requires them to:

  • Process your data only on our written instructions and only for the purpose we hired them to perform.
  • Apply industry-standard security controls (encryption in transit and at rest, access logging, breach notification).
  • Delete or return your data at the end of our agreement with them.

The set of vendors we use is reviewed periodically and is treated as internal operational information. If you have a specific question about how a particular piece of your data flows, contact us at the link in the Contact section and we’ll answer in plain language.

We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or to protect against fraud or imminent harm. When we receive such a request we will, where legally permitted, notify the affected user before responding.

Data retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. After deletion, we keep minimal records for up to 7 years to comply with tax and legal requirements; our payment processor retains payment records under their own legally required retention schedule. You can request immediate deletion of identifiable data at any time via the Rights section below.

Your rights (GDPR/CCPA)

Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Correction — fix any inaccurate information.
  • Deletion — request that we delete your account and associated data.
  • Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Opt-out — unsubscribe from non-essential communications.

To exercise any of these rights, reach us through the channels on the Help & Support page from the email address associated with your account. We’ll respond within 30 days.

Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and basic functionality, and analytics cookies to understand how the product is used. See our Cookie Policy for the full breakdown and how to control them.

Security

Keeping your data safe is something we take seriously. Concretely:

  • All traffic to GameGrid is encrypted in transit with industry-standard TLS so your data can't be read while it's moving between you and us.
  • Your account data is stored encrypted at rest. The database isolates each user's records so one account can never see another's.
  • Card numbers never touch our systems — they're handled by a PCI-compliant payment processor on its own infrastructure. We only see a customer reference and your subscription status.
  • Internal access to user data is restricted on a need-to-know basis, logged, and reviewed.
  • We monitor for unusual access patterns and apply security updates as they're released by the platforms we run on.

Your data is yours. We don’t sell it, we don’t share it with advertisers, and we don’t use it to train third-party models. The only people who see it are the small team running GameGrid — for the limited purpose of operating and improving the service.

No system is 100% breach-proof, and we won’t pretend otherwise. If a security incident affects your data, we’ll notify you promptly with an explanation of what happened, what data was involved, and what we’re doing about it — faster than the legally required minimums where we can.

International transfers

Our service providers may process your data in regions outside your country (United States, European Union). When transfers occur, they rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.

Children's privacy

GameGrid is for users 18 years or older (21+ in some jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we’ll delete the account.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be communicated by email and/or via a banner in the app at least 14 days before they take effect. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
